Nov. RideSmart Half Off Give Away

Post by DarcShadow » Mon Oct 01, 2012 7:51 am

Three trackdays in Nov. all at Cresson.
1.7 on Nov. 3rd
1.3 on Nov. 4th
& 1.3 on Nov. 18th

Answer the following 3 questions for your chance to wina half off track credit. As always the half off must be used by the winner and must be used in Nov. If something happens and you can't make it after winning the runner up will receive the discount.

There are no right or wrong answers, but plese give them some thought and serious responses (to at least the first 2 anyway. )

Drawing will be held Oct. 15th, 9:00am.

1) What is your favorite TX track that you've ridden on and why? If you've not done a trackday, what track are you wanting to ride and why?
2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
3) What is something on your Christmas list?

Believe it or not I can actually use this in Nov. I've only got 1 credit in the bank right now. :D

1) What is your favorite TX track that you've ridden on and why? If you've not done a trackday, what track are you wanting to ride and why?
I'm going to say ECR after riding it last month. I've done a lot of Cresson, both the 1.3 and the 1.7. ECR is a new challenge, and I ain't skeered of funny-colored pavement. I took Brandt's advice to heart and just ignored what the pavement looked like, except to use it as reference points. The S3 is really happy on that track--there are tight turns to practice cornering, but long enough straights to let her run.

2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
Airport Road. It's one of those roads where you're always on your toes. Even when you learn it, it's so tight that oncoming traffic can be...challenging.

3) What is something on your Christmas list?
A GoPro Hero 2. I'm probably going to be buying one for myself.

1) What is your favorite TX track that you've ridden on and why? If you've not done a trackday, what track are you wanting to ride and why?
Cresson 1.7, it just flows well with good pavement.
2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
For close roads, FM4, it also flows well and has a mater

1) What is your favorite TX track that you've ridden on and why? If you've not done a trackday, what track are you wanting to ride and why?
The 1.7 CCW at MSRC is probably the most enjoyable track in TX (although I have yet to ride MSRH). It is reasonably fast, with a nice amount of technical sections. ECR would be a fantastic track, if it wasn't for the poor surface conditions. I don't worry about patches, but the bumps and the seepage can be a serious issue when you're trying to go fast. TWS is a fun track, but mistakes tend to be more costly there. It also tends to attract track squids.

2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
In TX?? I love the scenery of FM4 around Palo Pinto, and of course the twisties on 51. Overall though, its hard to beat the Cherohala Skyway.

3) What is something on your Christmas list?

The 1.7 CCW. I have only ridden the 1.3 and I wasn't too fond of it. I will give it another go round to see if I was having an off day.
2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
I like FM 4 heading North. I do not like it heading south. There are few roads that I would really like to ride down like the wind but they are too crowded with vehicles and 1 lane (no passing at all).
3) What is something on your Christmas list?
A patio :D

Never done a track day on my bike but I would like to do MSRC cause I know that track from my car. Wasn't impressed with ECR's track quality.

FM5 was fun!!

I like any track I have ridden so far. That is ECR and MSRC.
2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
CO Rd 220, FM 205 and CO Rd 216. I enjoy the scenery and the roads are quite twisty. It also puts plenty of distance between me and DFW. I REALLY ENJOY THAT!!!!!!
3) What is something on your Christmas list?
I don't know.

If you've not done a trackday, what track are you wanting to ride and why?If ECR wasn't so darn bumpy i'd like it the best. if 1.3 wasn't so short i'd like it the best. the 1.7 isn't quite as fun as it use to be to me so to be honest i don't know, i like them all
2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?new hope is a blast, but short
3) What is something on your Christmas list?haven't really thought about it, but i am in need of a good hooker

Love the 1.7 at MSRC! I haven't ridden TWS or MSRH (although I want to ride both) but the 1.7 at Cresson seems to have everything set up perfectly

2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
I'm a sucker for FM 51!!! It's great to me! If we're going to be in the mood for speed, I like Cranfills Gap

3) What is something on your Christmas list?
GoPro, rear spring for the baby gixxer

I've yet to do a track day, but I've done a parade lap at Eagles Canyon Raceway and been a spectator at Cresson. Both of those look like tons of fun. To be honest, I don't really mind which track it is. I just want to get out there!

2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
Cransfills gap. We went there on my first ride with the club and, at that point, that was easily the most fun I've had on my bike since I bought it.

3) What is something on your Christmas list?
Car parts for the mustang, cold weather riding gear (if I don't have it all by then), and Trans Siberian Orchestra tickets!

MSR 1.3 - It's a very technical track and keeps you on your toes constantly.
2) What road/section of road do you enjoy riding the most?
Road to Hana, although I have not riding it on the bike it was a blast in the rental mustang!
3) What is something on your Christmas list?
New tires for the car.

1) No track for me yet but Cresson is the only sensible choice around here so I'm changing it and going for my first ever track day in less than 2 weeks!

2) I love hitting up FM5 on the way home from work.

3) I have way too many toys and things as it is, I doubt my wife would let me get more stuff for Christmas. Christmas is all about my kids.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it!

I guess I'll need to get my GoPro out on the track for this one. It has sat two seasons now, I've never actually run it on the bike.
