Let's do the math. Typical landings for the C-130 are around 100 - 130knots and assuming by the time they fire the rockets they only have 2/3rd of the soccer field left they would have a deceleration rate of 71.1ft/s/s to 120ft/s/s. 1G is 32.1ft/s/s so it's only 2.21 to 3.76 negative Gs. Not that bad actually considering what they are doing.

Don't forget the big *thump* as the plane falls the last several feet out of the sky when the rockets kill lift. You could see it in one of those landings--it hit hard enough that first class would have been bitching at the stewardess, at least.

The rockets were not supose to fire till touch down. Not sure why the video seemed to start over but if you watched it to the end you would see the horrendious fireball of a wreck. Everyone walked away though.

Yeah, they aren't supposed to fire the rockets until the tires touch the ground. The pilot messed up and fired them too soon.
