Jeremiah--I hope you and your brother had a blast. I can't remember ever bailing on a track day, but after what turned out to be a wild and crazy race weekend, I was simply too exhausted to ride.

Hopefully we can ride together again soon!

LOL your good man I know your a track freak and if you said you are to tired then it is best that you not be on the track. We had a great time and the day couldn't have been much nicer. It was warm enough but not at all hot and the track was not slick at all after the first session or 2. My brother liked it a lot I am sure he will be back out. Tony told me after following and leading me just before lunch that I need to give it the beans. He said I was way faster when following him than when he was following because he opened it up in the straights and I didn't have a problem doing it when I was behind him. I told him that I don't gas it on the straights because I don't wanna be that guy on the big bike that holds everyone up in corners and blast it in straights. He told me that I wasn't holding anyone up in the corners and was probably the fastest level 2 guy that day so don't worry about anyone else and just get on the gas in the straights. So I started working on that the rest of the day and that helped me work on braking points as well. I still seem to have the wrong hand position when holding the throttle because I have a hard time going WOT. Something to work on next track day I suppose.

Thanks for coming out Lonestar. I am sorry that I was not able to spend more time with ya. It seemed that our class always took us right up to the 10 minute.

Glad to hear that it was a great day. DD--the problem you mention with going wide-open on the straights is a result of running a big bike in the lower levels. Level 1 in particular emphasizes to allow the smaller bikes to pass in the straights to avoid holding anyone up. While that is a good and courteous policy in L1, you really need to drop that mindset in L2. Hammer it in the straights and get used to finding your brake markers for the turns based upon being wide open! If anyone in L2 bitches that they can't get around you, then it is because they haven't learned how to properly use corner speed and braking power to pass someone (i.e., its not your problem). Proper track riding means pinning it. A lot.

Regarding your throttle issue--how long is your throttle pull? If it is stock, it may be too long for track riding. Consider getting the Motion Pro throttle kit, which allows you to properly adjust your throttle.

Let's do the next Eurosport track day (typically in May) together! I promise I won't bail unless it immediately follows a race weekend. :))

I will plan on it Striple. I have been looking at that Motion pro kit for a while... It might be time to make the purchase. Of course I hope to get a dedicated track bike soon so that might fix lots of things also.

I'll never be able to figure out your throttle issues, I've only ever had that problem on a pre-gen 250 where it took like 359 degree's of twist to go full throttle.

Might be in my head. Or maybe it's where I start my grip. Not sure. I will fix it though.

It usually has to do with the way you grip the throttle. Don't sweat it, just get a throttle kit (or get a track bike with a throttle kit :)) ). Its a pretty standard track mod.
