Anyone know an inspection place in Crowley that will do bikes?

Even better if you know the City Attorney!

"Inspections Only" do motorcycle inspections, there's one right over by where Cycle Werkz used to be.

I finally got my bike's inspection updated last week, just over three years since the last one. I pulled up, the guy goes "blinkers work?" "yup." "lights? brakes? Must be ok, since you got here just fine..." "yup." "Horn?" "yup." "Alright, give me your insurance, I'll be back in a few minutes..." Five minutes and $14 later and I was on my way...

I've used a place in Saginaw for the last two years and they don't give me a hard time about placing the sticker on the frame.... as opposed to it being placed lawfully on display next to the plate. 'Course could result in a ticket itself.

That's a relative misnomer. It doesn't have to be placed 'next' to the plate, just visible and near the plate.

Bird will probably have more to say on this one.

We had a thread previously discussing the letter of the law for inspection stickets, and while I'm too lazy to search for it right now, I recall it said "the sticker must be visible from the rear of the bike" and made no mention of proximity to the license plate. A lot of times cops will "quote" law when in actuality they are trying to enforce a standard way of doing it without the law on their side. Having the sticker right next to the plate makes their job easier. I can't stand cops that quote non-existant laws.

Grinner, you find a place to get your bike inspected inexpensively?

True but some counties do not have emissions. Not sure if that affects bikes as my county does not have emissions. If the county has no emissions requirements then the inspection is much cheaper. I think it is like 10 or 15 where I am at for a car and it is like 35-40 or something in FW for a car. If you need an address to get the inspection done in a non emissions county let me know and we can take some mail for ya or something.... lol.

They don't test bikes for emissions. I take mine to one of the bike dealers in West Fort Worth - Usually the Yamaha place on 183 (Next to Cycle Gear) or Honda West on the 820 access road.

Well that makes things different..... but still if you need a car done ... you know. And if they dont test bikes for emissions then why do they put cats in them?.... I guess some states and countries do test bikes huh?

When your car/truck is inspected they are supposed to check what county tje vehicle is from. I know some folks that get their trucks inspected out by Ranger to get a cheap inspection. Only worth it if you know you will fail polution or you are out there anyway.

True not really worth it as you spend as much in time and gas driving out to get it done... I was talking in jest anyway.

Yes bikes have cats in them because of other states, such as California.
