What's the plan for tomorrow? I'm too lazy to read through all the posts to see who's going.

So, who's going and is anybody meeting up there Sunday afternoon/evening?

Maybe, you can always call Dave at the 512.469.9491 number. It is on the Ridesmart website.

I'll be there Monday, not sure about the night before. You guys planning on being at the same spot, under that covered area? I might try and swing by on Sunday night to drop off tools/tape/etc with someone, that way I can pull of the Givi rack before heading down there... although it seems like it might be funny to get on track with it still on the bike (:

What time do you guys normally get there on Sunday?

Most people in the past get there around 6 ish. I wanted to see if anyone was going so we could plan. It's nice for those who need to prep their bikes and register, so you don't have to cram everything in the morning. I don't have any bike prep, I just like to drink beer  From the looks of it, nobody is planning on getting there Sunday evening. If anybody posts up that they would like to go, I'll show up to support (and drink beer).

Hi everyone,
I just wanted to thank everyone that helped me out today. It has been a LONG time since I set foot on any track and I appreciate all of the guidance getting me up to speed.

Can't wait for the next track day :biker:

Fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun fun FUNNNNNNNNN :D

So, yeah, I guess you could say I had a good time.

The weather was great, mostly sunny, with the temps hitting probably high 80s... not TOO hot, but enough to make for some nice track conditions. The first session seemed to go by way too quick--I don't think we even got 4 laps in. Session 2 was better--I got to pick up the pace on my own a bit, and it lasted longer. I kept getting stuck in these long trains of people, though... I'd pull in, take a slow cruise through the pits, and be right back behind the train well before Big Bend. I was still to nervous at this point to try but the most obvious of passes, so it got a bit frustrating. Session 3 I got to follow one of the instructors around for 2 laps. Seeing how he took a few of the corners really caused a jump in my speed through some of them, most notably ricochet and the fast right-hander just after rattlesnake. I was getting more comfortable passing people coming out of the corners, so I wasn't getting held up in traffic as much. I also started dragging my peg feelers through some of the lower speed turns--the blind uphill LH in the new section, and the tight LH in rattlesnake. I think I should pull those things off... every time I heard one of them make contact, it really threw me off. The rest of the day was much the same... not pushing too hard, just getting to know the track. It really was alot of fun.

Oh, and much thanks to Blizz for the ride home in the downpour. Let me know when its time for some new ramps... I'll definitely chip in (:

Now, where are those pictures... :D

I tried to add them to a folder Firewa11 already set up for Track Days 2007, but I couldnt do it. Maybe I'll see if he can move them, or just send them to him to upload. So anyway, here they are, in my own personal folder.

I noticed I only got one of Jim (sorry), it was all that trying to get video of him! Not all of them are our guys. I got the slow chick on the Ninja 250, I got the guy in yellow leather, yellow bike that went down in turn 7 (not while he was down, I'm at least nice enough to get him riding!!) And some other random peoples.

Photos arent all that great. I took them from my spot and didnt wander closer to the track because the brush was tall all around me. And I only had turn 7 to play with. Guys comming up to the turn were sometimes fast, and by the time I recognized them it was hard to get a shot on the straight.

Yep. I have to get a little bit farther off the bike and go a bit faster and I should get it down. The darker pictures were taken in the last session, just before it rained. That was the session I was going the fastest. The pictures are too dark though.

If you like one of those better, stop in at the studio some time and see what he can do with it. It's amazing how much he can touch up and improve a photo.

I'm planning on buying the Event CD. It comes with all of the photos I am in, a free 8X10 print of the photo I choose, a slideshow, and 3 versions of all of the photos. Not sure what the versions are. $75. I figure once I review all of them I can take them somewhere and have a poster made.

So far I found 50 pictures with me in them. Hart said usually a rider averages 75 to 125 pictures per event. I was only looking for myself in the thumbnails, which are cropped, so there may be a few where I am off to the side, and didn't see it.
