TXSR DFW Ride April 25th
TXSR DFW Ride April 25th
TXSR Ride this coming April 25th, classification will be moderate. There may be a section where those properly equipped can run a segment at a higher pace via a split off group then we meet back up toward the end.
From the TXSR Meetup page:
This will be a moderate pace, beginner ride sponsored by leadership with TXSR from DFW and Austin.
If you have not already, please review the philosophies, guidelines, and details regarding TXSR rides on this MeetUp forum. They will be strictly enforced. If you cannot abide by them, please kindly remove yourself from the MeetUp site.
Please make sure your bike specs out: proper conditioned tires, chain, etc. Bikes will be checked prior to departure and if it does not meet an inspection conducive to a track day, we will have to ask you not ride with our group.
The pace for a this ride is at or near posted speed limits. On a beginner ride the ride leader tries to keep a closer eye on the group and adjust the speeds appropriately.
Please be dressed appropriately, appropriate jacket, helmet, gloves, over the ankle shoes and long pants. Anyone not in appropriate gear will be asked not to ride with our group.
If you want breakfast be sure to show up early, this ride will need to leave on time and there will be a stop for lunch.
*IF YOU HAVE NOT RODE WITH TXSR yet and are currently a Beginner-NTG rider, you will have to participate in a beginner ride such as this one to be advanced to an Intermediate, so please keep this in mind for future, organized rides with TXSR.
We are expecting a large turnout so the route and lunch location will be determined closer to the date, but it will be fun and worth it.
KSU at 9am SHARP!
If you have ANY questions, please send them before Saturday's ride to be addressed

If some of the above text looks familiar it should as it is a copy of our moderate ride posting template, the meetup location is our typical spot at sonic
For those that do not know TXSR is ran by the good folks over at Ridemsmart. TXSR has started a DFW chapter and due to FWMR's association with Ridesmart we are helping TXSR DFW get onto their feet.
NO FWMR is NOT going away or being re-named to TXSR or vise versa, the more non-squid sport bike groups we have, that's fewer squid groups out there damaging sport bike image so this is all about networking with groups that share a similar philosophy as FWMR - and there are not many out there.
I will be leading this ride so you will have the same familiar look/feel to the ride as you would expect from a normal FWMR ride. Meatballs attending this ride will get ride credit toward membership.
Ride details:Fairly direct route to Coyote Loco, the intent is to get their early to beat the crowd, they open at 11am and that is the target, from there we will do a loop further south to hit some sweepers then work our way back north toward the metroplex, about 4 hours of riding after lunch.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the ride or our relationship with TXSR.

I've got the parts in for the Kawi if you want to risk it on it's first longer ride in 4 years! Runs rough when cold, but otherwise seems good to go.LonestarCBR wrote:My kingdom for a bike!
I'm leaning in at this point. Might be looking at houses since my recent offer fell through. I'll RSVP on the Meetup page.

Thanks but as much as I want to go, I am not. I have a presentation, a paper, and homework due this coming week. I need to get it done since finals are the following week. I appreciate it though.DemonDuck wrote:Jackie would most likely be willing to watch him for ya. If I don't hear from ya I will ask her tomorrow.Telomere wrote:Out. I'm now a maybe. Some things just happened with the buy/sell of the house. If I can get it resolved, I'll be there but will have to split off early.
If I'm not- don't wait up.
