I use the Dainese Wave Back Protector, it's pretty comfortable and it has
the aluminum honeycomb crush core to absorb your fall...
It does have a Level 1 EN1621-2 CE approval.
I like it's articulating spinal cord like design so it moves with you as you
bend back and forth or twist to look back... it's pretty cool!
Good luck

Just a side note ... get the best equipment that you can afford. No, I'm not selling it, I just feel that the protective gear that the pro's wear is the reason that they jump back up after a 150 mph slide, grab the bike and go at it again.
I used to cut costs on all of my gear, then a parts guy at the BMW shop called me out on getting tight over the cost of a helmet. He pointed out that I had spent 10 thousand dollars on the bike, $500 on a touring suit, $100 on gloves, $300 on communications, $400 on boots and NOW I'M GOING TO *CHEAP OUT* on a helmet that is protecting the one thing that allows be to buy this stuff (my brain) ?!?!?
For those of you that feel you just can't afford the gear, talk with the club members. Someone may have something you can use that isn't NEW, but it may be in a price range you can afford. DON'T get tight with the equipment that will give you the best chance to ride again after you dump it!

It SUCKS to get old ... it sucks even MORE to realize it! Live for the moment every chance you get.
