September 28 @ Eagle's Canyon

Post by mahart » Thu Sep 10, 2009 9:33 am

I put in to have my track day on Monday 9/28 at Eagle's Canyon. You guys are invited to watch my first ever tack day. I know it's a Monday, but I didn't want to have to go to Houston for this. I'll be on the Bonneville for this one.

I am still undecided, but I may be out there. I have to try to weasel my way out of a test in one of my classes that day. I have a EZ-Up I am more than happy to share if I go, should you so desire. I am still working out some kinks with the bike too, so we'll see.

After talking to Mike about his upcoming trackday and talking about the club trackday in October, I've really got a jonesing to get back out there now. I'm giving serious thought to taking Monday off and heading up to ECR... I just tried calling RS and no answer, so I'm not sure how many L2 slots are still open. Hmmm... anyone else interested in being sick *cough* on Monday? Matt, you decide if you're going or not? Anyone else want to come? Cost is only $100, weather shows sunny, 0% precipitation, high in the mid 80's... :D

I was planning on going, but Fedex LOST my front wheel during shipping because the guy I purchased a set from is a complete idiot! :-o

On thursday the 17th, when the rear was delivered without the front, Fedex told me they would get back to me within 48 hours and have a resolution in 6-7 days... they have yet to call me and I keep getting the same crap everytime I call!!!

I decided today to get some maintenance done since I obviously wasn't going, so the bike is in NO shape to ride!

I had a blast. From the pics, I have a long way to go. At times I thought I was hanging way off and low. I wasn't

I also got some insight into suspension. It was very Greek, but the demo was interesting. If you push and quickly release the handlebars, the bike pops up higher than its resting height. aha, it's a pogo stick indeed.

Thanks for the opportunity.

looks like you need to lean forward and get a little lower on the bike too.

Looks like you had a great time, always good to hear about new guys getting hooked. :)
