Kickball - Fall 2011

Ok so no-one here has played in a while. I'm thinking of playing again. Registration just opened for the Fall season and it starts September 20th. Figured I'd throw it out there, and see if anyone from the club was interested in playing again.

And for those of you that weren't around when a lot of us were playing kickball, and don't know about it. It is a blast. You should go check it out. I'm trying to find out if Summer season is still going, so I can go out, see who all is still out there, and scout some teams to play with.

I can vouch this is a blast! The only reason I quit playing was because I bought a house and I justhavent had the free time to get back into it. Its a TON of fun and hope to get back out and play again one day.

Co-ed? Do you have practices...if so what day, time? Where are the games played at?

it is co-ed. I quit playing because I ran out of money to support the habit. Looks like there are 4 leagues in Ft Worth now. Storm and Panther are the ones we played in. They play Tuesday night. We never had any practices, but we weren't a shit hot competitive team either.

Yes it's co-ed. You have to have a minimum of 4 girls field or else you forfiet the game. Same thing if a team is all girls, you have to have a minimum of 4 guys field.

As for the legues. TX Storm is folding, and is no more once they finish this summer season. That league got a few people in it that got way to over competative, and bitchy over little calls, and the league turned into a political bitch fest over rules. It just wasn't fun anymore. So everyone left in droves to the panther league to get away from those particular teams/people. In the Spring season this year, I heard Storm only had 6 teams. So anyways that league is no more.

But yes I'll be playing the Tuesday night league (TX-Panther) and they play at Gateway park. I'll be going out next week (August 9th) to mingle, see who all is still playing, and put down a couple of beers. Anyone that wants to go watch and see what it's all about let me know.

The early games typically start at 18:30 hrs. Late games at 20:30 hours.

Ok. For those of you interested in checking out kickball. I'm going to be heading up to gateway park after work tomorrow to mix, mingle, and socialize. The games start at 6:30 so that would be the earliest I head up there; it all really depends on when I get done at work. If you want to come hang out and watch some kickball PM me and I'll send you my contact info so you can find me there. Yes alcohol is allowed at gateway park, just no glass.

I would give playing kickball a try, but my daughter has soccer practice Tuesdays and Fridays from 6:00-7:30pm and I usually take one of her teammates too. Fixxer is not home in time to take them so that leaves me and I wouldn't put you out on games. Maybe next time (maybe we should try outdoor soccer...more physical but Fixxer does same I have a violent streak in me)

There is a pickup game tonight. This a free game for anyone that wants to come out and play. So if you want to come out and play some kickball and get a feel for the game come out tonight. The pickup games are one fields 2&4 at Gateway Park at 7:30pm.
