Looks like they are going to be at NOLA twice this year, although they also have a TWS event listed the same weekend.
They've got about 6 more trackdays then last year and most of them are a little cheaper. Doesn't seem to be as many Cresson events this year though, although there are two full weekends in Nov. at Cresson.

Woo hoo! 5/5 the Versys is hitting the track. :D

I'm also happy they split Heartland Park and Barber to opposite ends of the summer. I really wish the NOLA thing wasn't a scheduling conflict for me, or I'd probably be attending all 3 out-of-town track days this year.

Ooh, the full 3.1 Cresson is happening in July.

Looks like this summer is going to be busy for track days. Cresson and Barber are really close together.

Well there is two NOLA events on the schedule, you could possibly hit the second one. Assuming that's not a schedule error.

True. If it's legit I may make the October date.

I think it's time to invest in one of those packable cots from Aerostich:

http://www.aerostich.com/off-the-road-a ... h-cot.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Not cheap, but probably comfy for paddock camping. If I'm going to make all those trips work I'm probably not going to be able to swing hotels for all of them.

NOLA is listed for 10/13 and TWS for 10/14. I guess they changed it.

Oh dear god. I just added up the track fees for all the MSRC, ECR, and one trip to each of the out-of-town. Total cost is $2970.

Looks like I need to get on the corner working list.

Edit: Sent in the dates I want. I signed up for 8 corner working days, so if I get them all I'll be riding locally for free and just paying track fees for the out-of-town tracks.

$3000 for a full year of riding the track. That's not bad. There are other much more expensive hobbies. :)

Update on dates. The conflicting TWS date has changed from the 14th to the 21st.

And I'm assuming that is just for the track days themselves. Not to mention Hotel, Travel expenses, and food for the road trips. Plus your tires, gas used on the track, gear, added maintenance on the bike (fluid changes, etc.). You then also have your snacks and drinks that you buy for the trackdays. All in all your probably looking at closer to $5000+ for the year.

And in my opinion, it's well worth it.

Oh, I don't disagree. Heck, I figured it out and last year I spent around $12k on this hobby, including buying the ZX6R for track use, buying leathers, etc. I was out almost $7k before my first track day.

I'm just trying to lessen the pain this year.

My first year, I spent about 2k just for my first trackday. You can figure a good budget for only doing a few trackdays a year is $2k. Maybe more. If you get into racing from talking to some of the CMRA guys your minimum budget is going to be $10k/year.

Better watch out man!! We may be corner working a lot of those days together...if we chose the same one!

It's possible. I put in for all the whole weekend in March at ECR and all the rest of the Saturdays at ECR. I'd rather work Saturday and ride Sunday. I also put in for some of the Cresson dates, but I alternated those so I'd get to run the 1.3, 1.7, and 3.1 next season.

I guess you better start putting aside some money now because I don't want to hear you bitching that you don't have the funds for a track day. :D

I can't bring myself to do it either. Spending an entire day watching fools run around the track for at most $140 in track credit. My time is more valuable to myself than that. You're looking at about a 10 hour day, that's $1.40 an hour.

$14, and tax free might I add.

Lets see, me and the Mrs. if we each work 6 days, just picking a number, thats ~ $1680

Yes, show me to the corner please.

ha! yeah, ok, $14.00 an hour is a bit better but still, that's an awful long day when there are so many other things I'd rather be doing. It's a great thing to do, and I'm happy everyone that does it does, and really everyone that rides the track should do at least once, I just don't see it in my future. :)

Besides not having the moola to pay for track days, I think there is a hidden benefit for me to CW. I think that by CWing, it will allow me to see which corners are the problem corners. But that is just me.

CWing does have its benefits in that manner a little. It gives you a different perspective of the track to see things from besides the pits or from the saddle.

Well I got all the days I asked for, so I'll be working the corner a *lot* next season. Upside is I'll be riding the local tracks for free next season.

Telomere, you may need to get another track day done before you can corner work. They have a new rule this year, if you've never been a corner worker you have to have ridden at least two track days. You might be able to work something out though.
