Re: HELP!!
What are you looking to do? I modified my SV pretty heavily. It was an 04 model so all the same parts I used would fit yours.

Re: HELP!!
I want the solo rear seat. I also want the lower fairings for the front and I want to get rid of the stock license plate and turn signal display I'm going to lower the bike and paint it I am going for a tricked out look as opposed to the street fighter look. Need a new front seat as well

Re: HELP!!
Would you be willing to sell your rear cowl and do you know where I can get the full front fairing setup? If you look in the newbie welcome boards under "how's it going guys?" you will see my bike

Re: HELP!!
Shaun sold his SV. Why would you want to lower it? I just got done putting mine back up to stock height since the previous owner had lowered it.

Mine has adjustable links on it if you want to trade, I'll never lower mine. I'm bringing the bike back up to Fort Worth today.

Re: HELP!!
You might also look at shaving the seat a bit. If you can make the seat a bit narrower (not thinner) by shaving some of the foam it can have a big impact in how easily you can get your feet to the ground with out changing the setup of the bike.

Re: HELP!!
Don't worry, I was in no way shape or form suggesting we swap bikes. I was talking about the links. The links on mine are adjustable. They are however a PITA to change without a proper way to stabilize the bike. There are several options for lower fairings. If you are deciding to paint the bike, Sharkskinz (http://sharkskinz.com/sv650.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) could be an option. The OEM fairings are getting scarce since it seems they have discontinued them. I found these on Ebay, but I can't comment about the quality of them and they come unpainted without the mounting kit which could be fabricated fairly easily or bought for around $100: http://www.ebay.com/itm/320776485295?ss ... 853wt_1396" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . The mounting kit is definitely not worth $100. Then there is the only place I found that had the OEM fairings, but they are mucho expensive and come painted in the stock colors: http://www.oneidasuzuki.com/store/parts ... 03-06.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Then there is KG Cycles kit: http://www.kgcycles.com/customers__bikes1.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Then there is also Woodcraft: http://www.woodcraft-cfm.com/cgi-bin/co ... =71-0224SS" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; . Take your pic or find some already painted on Ebay or Craigslist. Those are bassically all the options I remember from my search not too long ago. I didn't buy any of them since my bike came with the lowers already on it. I'm thinking about replacing my seat, but it won't fit your 2006. The 2003 is a second gen, but it has some odd ball parts that make it different from all the other model years. One of those parts is the seat.

Re: HELP!!
Be careful with buying aftermarket fairings on fleabay. There is a lot of really poor-quality bodywork out there, which is brittle and has terrible fit.

I'm down to swap lowering links . My buddie has a full garage and if we wanted to meet up one day we could lift both the bikes and swap

Re: HELP!!
No, the 99-2002 will not fit your bike. A quick search of the site yields the kit for the 2003+ http://sharkskinz.com/sv650s.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: HELP!!
I could be wrong, but something to be aware of, Sharkskinz are racing plastics and as such are not as heavy and durable as the plastics on a stock bike. Nothing wrong with them, just something to be aware of.

Re: HELP!!
Thanks buddie I am going to end up making this bike my track ride anyways so those fairings should be perfect. I have never actually owned my own track bike an I was wondering what is the standard rear tire size for a track run?DarcShadow wrote:I could be wrong, but something to be aware of, Sharkskinz are racing plastics and as such are not as heavy and durable as the plastics on a stock bike. Re: HELP!!
What ever correctly fits the rim. An SV I believe runs a 160.

Re: HELP!!
Sharkskinz makes both race and street bodywork. The standard rear tire size for an SV is 160/60.Brandonsvrider wrote:Thanks buddie I am going to end up making this bike my track ride anyways so those fairings should be perfect. If this is going to be a track bike, you may also want to reconsider lowering the bike, since that would affect your ground clearance.

Re: HELP!!
Yeah I took the ground clearance into thought. And I currently run a 160 standard size for the sv is there a specific tread pattern I should go for in a track tire as opposed to a street tire

Re: HELP!!
You definitely want a tire that will give you enough traction to inspire confidence on the track. If you're just getting into it, then a set of Michelin Pilot Power 2CTs or an equivalent would likely suit you well.Brandonsvrider wrote:Yeah I took the ground clearance into thought.
