Good small single rail trailer for a car?
Does anyone have a suggestion for a good small trailer that I can put behind a small car for towing one motorcycle?

Since you won't be pulling it far, check out harbor freight's trailers. Just make sure to keep the maintenance up on those bad boys

A *good* single-rail trailer would be the Kendon fold-up. It ain't cheap though.
I agree with the Harbor Freight suggestion for a cheapie. Or if you don't want to buy, just rent the U-Haul one when you need it. I did that for my whole first track season, towing behind a Ford Focus.

Re: Good small single rail trailer for a car?
There is no real good and cheap solution for this. The best value is probably somewhere along the lines of a Trinity trailer ($1,475), but they do not fold up. The Kendon trailers do fold up, but they also start around $2,280. If you're going to do track days and/or trailer your bike(s) out to places with fun roads, then it is definitely a worthwhile investment. But yeah, it hurts.

Screw all of that, it doesn't cost that much to haul around a damn bike. You can get a normal trailer well under a grand.

This looks like a good option. I emailed him to see if he had the MCO for it.

Yep, you can use a utility trailer, but they don't perform nearly as well as a motorcycle trailer. I've used both, and there is no comparison.milesmiles wrote:Screw all of that, it doesn't cost that much to haul around a damn bike. You can get a normal trailer well under a grand.

Well the thing is that I drive a sentra. I need low weight more than high capacity.

Re: Good small single rail trailer for a car?
A modern car can pull quite a bit of weight. I know Miata guys pulling motorcycles behind them. Don't worry so much about the weight. I like utility trailers over a dedicated motorcycle one because you can do so much more with a utility trailer (haul branches, haul ATV's, couches, beds, etc). Hence the name "utility"... Of course all of that stuff can be done with a truck too. The heavier trailers tend to track better than the light ones when there is no load on them at least in my experience.

A Baxley trailer would be the way to go, especially if you can find a used one of the older model, that is just the rail without the decking. But again, not cheap.
