Replacing stater engine cover
After cleaning my bike this weekend I noticed a very small leak in the stater / engine cover. So I was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips for me doing this. It seems fairly simple,But im an amature in this field. So im tring to CMA. I don't have the part yet. So if somone knows somebody looking to sell a cover let me know or I"ll go ebay it. Some time very soon. Any advice is welcomed. Thank you

Re: Replacing stater engine cover
Is there a crack or is it leaking from where it attaches to the engine, like the gasket might be bad?

Super simple, just clean both sides where they meet. Reapply gasket. Play close attention where the wires go in, might use a little extra gunk there. Tighten down to spec.

Re: Replacing stater engine cover
where is the crack, take a pic.
If the crack is any where near the gasket surface I wouldn't JB weld it

Yeah, if the crack is just a crack away from where parts go together, should be fine. But, like Fixxer said, if it's close or on the surface where the gaskets mate, don't mess with it.
Go out to http://www.ronayers.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and do a search in their microfiche for parts. No clue what a new engine case cover runs, but I can't imagine they are too expensive. Just make sure you order a new gasket when you order a replacement.
