Harris Hill Raceway 2013

Post by Grinner » Thu Aug 01, 2013 11:41 am

Hey yall, Im working on getting something set up to go and ride Harris Hill Raceway sometime around Sept - Oct. Wanted to see if anyone might be interested in going down with me to take a run at this nice little track!

The way this is going to work is that we will be going down as guests of their facility. The price per rider will be $150 guest fee for the day. Based on the dates I am looking at, they should be hot track from 10am to 4pm. This will be an open event kinda like doing a Guest day at the ranch with no instruction. Just a day to go out, relax, and have fun with family and friends!

Requirements for me and those going with me to Harris Hill Raceway will be as follows:
You must be a level 2/Intermediate to level 3/Advanced/Licensed Racer with multiple previous trackdays on record.
Maintained and mechanically sound and safe machine.
There is no track support so you will need new/nearly new tires (enough tread for a typical trackday) or spares on rims ready to go.
Rides must be taped just as you would for a trackday with mirrors removed/taped and license plates removed/taped.
If you have any questions about the above, contact me via PM, email, or phone.

A list has been started below and will be updated as people make decisions.

As a heads up, this will be on a Monday. Im wanting to go on a day when they will be at their lightest so that I may get a better feel for the layout and easier on the memory.

Date is set! Open for discuss plans.
:D

08/01/13 - Received call from Facility operator and will return call when I get off work tonight.
08/02/13 - Contacted rep and received information for making a run. (see edited portion above)
08/14/13 - Plans are in place...awaiting info from others that are in.

Ménage à trois - MSR-H, Harris Hill, & Twizted Sisters :-x
Twins - MSR-H & Harris Hill
Double Down - Harris Hill & Twizted Sisters
One n Dun - MSR-H / Harris Hill / Twizted Sisters

Grinner - Ménage à trois

Does anyone know what kind of shape the track is in ? I wouldn't mind going depending on the date & how busy we are at the time.

The track is in good shape. I ran it in the Miata. There are some slightly rough spots.

Also, considering extended stay to play with the sisters for a couple days of abuse! Have vac time to burn!
If others might want to do the sisters trip as well, I will start a seperate thread for planning.

Ok...here is an interesting idea....

I just noticed that Ridesmart is runnin Houston the weekend of Sept 14 & 15. Anybody maybe want to do MSR-H on Sunday and then run Harris Hill on Monday? I might could do some horsetradin with folks at work for that week.
Just another idea that came to mind.

My vacation for September just got pulled so the multi state ride trip is off for me, I'm up in the air at the moment on what's going with vacation time but it looks like I won't be able to tap into my PTO until October.

Doh!!!! That sucks. Sometimes working IT and having upcoming projects really sucks when it interferes with vacation :(

Ok...sorry for the delay on this but I have been gettin my azz handed to me lately at work and at home.

For me, it is lookin like I may be doing a vacation play/sightseeing trip.
I am looking at going to MSR-H on Sunday and and then over to Harris Hill on Monday. After two days of tracking, I am thinking a day or two of the Twizted Sisters will be in order and then head home.
I am not saying anyone has to be in for the long haul to get in on any of this but if you are, it would be great to have the company for the whole shebang!
Even if noone goes for the whole, all are more than welcome to join in on any portion of this trip. Just fyi...I will be trailering and not riding this whole trip.

In short, if anyone is down for any portion of this trip, PM me and I will add you to my list of contacts for planning. Maps have already been done up for my part.
Will also have equipment with me like tape and such for those that wish to ride down and do one of the trackdays.

So, who is in for what???
